Pneumatic seals

Pneumatic seals

In general, pneumatic seals are used to retain liquids, such as air and gas. Advanced Sealing Technology supplies a number of seals that have been specially developed for pneumatic applications: where cylinders and valves are activated by air. Pneumatic seals are used in dynamic applications, often with high speeds and generally with rotary and linear movements. That is why these seals also require advanced properties which are reflected in the optimized materials we use.

In addition to our standard pneumatic seals tailor-made solutions can of course always be developed. Contact us to find out more about our possibilities.

Hydraulic seals

Hydraulic seals

At Advanced Sealing Technology we’re very aware how important it is to use excellent quality hydraulic seals. Hydraulic seals that fail can cost you a lot of money and time. Hydraulic applications demand the utmost from seals, because they must prevent liquid leakage from the cylinder and must be able to withstand high pressures, extreme temperatures and transverse forces within the cylinder.

Seals for hydraulic systems demand special seal designs. Rod seals, for example, prevent fluid leakage from inside the cylinder, while hydraulic (suction) seals prevent fluid from flowing past the cylinder head. This allows pressure to build up on one side of the cylinder, allowing it to move in and out. Guide rings guide the piston and rod inside the cylinder and absorb transverse forces. This prevents metal to metal contact. Scrapers/wipers scrape dirt, chips and moisture from the piston rods, helping prevent contamination.

If you want to seal a cylinder to a high standard, we can provide you with excellent advice. We have specially developed seals that are extremely efficient for sealing hydraulic systems. These seals are made of materials that guarantee durability, optimum performance and minimal maintenance. O-rings

O-ring

With current technology, the O-ring is indispensable as a seal and can therefore be used in almost all industrial branches, such as aerospace, the car industry and general mechanical engineering. O-rings are used not only as a sealing element, but also as an activating element for hydraulic seals and scrapers.

O-rings are so commonly used today because they are cheap to produce and easy to use. This means they are cost-effective and perform at a high level. We offer O-rings in all kinds of sizes and materials, allowing the O-ring to seal virtually all liquid and gaseous media. If you would like to know more about the possibilities of our O-rings, please feel free to contact us or request a no-obligation quote below.

Mechanical face seals

Mechanical Face Seals are specially developed for rotating applications in extremely harsh conditions. These Mechanical Face Seals resist wear and prevent the ingress of abrasive and aggressive external media.

There are two different types of Mechanical Face Seals: A type that uses an O-ring as the second sealing element and a type that does not use an O-ring but an elastomer with a rectangular cross-section as the second sealing element.

The applications of Mechanical Face Seals Mechanical Face Seals are mainly used for seals in machines that have to produce under extremely harsh conditions and whose seals are therefore heavily subject to wear. Think of bulldozers, black trucks, agricultural machines and transport systems, where the seals are very suitable for use in gearboxes, mixing machines and wind turbines.

In any case, a maintenance-free and life-long seal is required. If you would like to know more about the possibilities of our Mechanical Face Seals, please feel free to contact us.
